The Renewable Energy Research Group of the Niroo Research Institute (NRI) was established in 1998 with the primary mission of conducting applied research projects and developing clean energy technologies for the country’s electricity industry.

Since its establishment, the group has focused on research, design, and localization of advanced technologies in the field of renewable energy and, over more than two decades, has evolved into one of the country’s leading research centers in this field.

By leveraging specialized researchers in various areas of renewable energy, the group has continuously pursued the development of advanced research and technologies. The group also operates specialized laboratories that provide the necessary capabilities for conducting applied research and advanced testing.

In line with the country’s strategic policies for the development of clean energy and within the framework of national upstream policy documents, the Renewable Energy Research Group is committed to conducting advanced research, training specialized human resources, and providing practical solutions to increase the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix.

The group is committed to increasing the contribution of renewable energy to the national energy mix through innovative solutions and technology localization, while taking effective steps toward achieving sustainable development goals and reducing environmental pollution.
