With the establishment of the Niroo Research Institute (NRI) in 1997, the Mechanical Engineering Group commenced its activities under the Power Generation Research Center. The group’s areas of activity included conducting applied research, providing engineering services, and manufacturing mechanical equipment for power plants.
Since 2014, the group’s activities have focused primarily on rotating equipment, and its name was subsequently changed to the Mechanical Rotating Equipment Research Group. Accordingly, the group has assumed responsibility for managing research activities related to mechanical rotating equipment within the electricity industry.
The group’s major activities include roadmap development, technology foresight and policy research, proof-of-concept projects, and developmental or urgent contractual projects for the electricity industry related to the group’s areas of expertise.
