The Environmental Research Group was established in 1993 with the aim of assessing the environmental impacts of the country’s power plants, which is an essential requirement for the sustainable development of industrial projects.
By utilizing the expertise of faculty members, researchers, and specialists, and through collaboration with universities and research institutions, the group conducts research and provides technical expertise in various fields, including monitoring and control of gaseous pollutants from the electricity industry; monitoring, treatment, and recycling of wastewater and water management in power generation units; solid waste management and soil remediation; environmental management, occupational health and safety in the electricity industry; and greenhouse gas emission reduction and management.
